Imelda Daniel
Architectural Support
Imelda was born in Melbourne, Australia and raised in Houston, Texas. Imelda has always enjoyed art and design from a young age and anticipated becoming both a fashion and interior designer. After moving to California, she attended an architectural design elective her senior year which then convinced her to study interior architecture at Woodbury University in Burbank and obtain her master’s in architecture at NewSchool of Architecture and Design. She joined Platt/Whitelaw in 2022 as an architectural design intern working closely with other architects and designers. She is currently in the IPAL program, which is an integrated path to architectural licensure in the state of California and anticipates her completion in the upcoming year.
Her projects at Platt/Whitelaw includes community centers, K-12 educational projects, park and rec, and the historic Botanical Building project in Balboa Park (she also worked on the RFP for this project while at EC Constructors, prior to coming to Platt/Whitelaw).
Imelda grew up loving to create, whether it was through drawing, storytelling, poetry, singing, or acting. She is passionate about all the arts and would love to teach architecture and design someday. She loves the North Park and the Convoy areas…where all great food and foodies can be found!
