James Mason grew up in the lively city of San Antonio, Texas. It was during a drafting class in high school that he first fell in love with architecture. The excitement of creating cool spaces that people could enjoy sparked a passion that would drive him forward.
After college at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), James pursued his dream career as an architect. He found his calling at Platt/Whitelaw, where he now works as a Senior Project Coordinator. His main goal is to make sure projects run smoothly and without a hitch. He also loves mentoring young talent, passing on his knowledge and love for building.
When he’s not immersed in blueprints, James unwinds with his two favorite activities: golf and swimming. They keep him active and relaxed, a perfect escape from the hustle of architecture. Plus, he and his wife share the joy of giving back to the community. Together, they volunteer at different charitable events, making a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
