Melissa was born and raised in San Diego. She worked for over 20 years as a graphic and production designer in the fields of graphic design, marketing, and communications. She went to the University of Phoenix and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication. She started at Platt/Whitelaw Architects in 2013 and serves as Marketing Coordinator, Proposal Administrator and Office Manager.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, and outdoor activities such as vegetable gardening, exploring new hiking trails, and learning about historic places in San Diego. She also enjoys hunting for “treasures” in thrift shops. She also loves playing with her animals (two dogs and a cat), cooking new recipes, reading, and learning new skills.
