
Randy Biegenzahn, LEED AP
Architect / Project Manager
Randy was raised in the Northwest and moved to San Diego where he attended Poway High. He attended Palomar College to earn an AA in Architectural Drafting, and then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from San Diego State University (SDSU). He then went on to earn a Master of Architecture at NewSchool of Design and Architecture. He is also certified as a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional. He is a registered and licensed California Architect. And obtained his Certification for Construction Contract Administration through the CSI.
As the son of a Craftsman Cabinetmaker, Carpenter and Contractor, he learned the value of good design and respect for materials and the process of building. This lifelong foundation provided by his father, inspired him to become an architect. He loves the creativity and challenges of the profession. With over 20+ years of experience in the field of architecture, his projects have included education, residential, commercial, life science, defense contracting, hospitality, restaurants, and industrial facilities. He joined Platt/Whitelaw, left for a short time, and returned in January 2020. He is a wonderful asset to Platt/Whitelaw Architects.
