IBPS
Platt/Whitelaw was retained by Brown and Caldwell to design an Membrane Filtration Reverse Osmosis Facility (MFRO) and Intermediate Booster Pump Station (IBPS) for a site in Escondido, CA.
Scripps Ranch Pump Station
Platt/Whitelaw was retained by Brown and Caldwell to design an Membrane Filtration Reverse Osmosis Facility (MFRO) and Intermediate Booster Pump Station (IBPS) for a site in Escondido, CA.
Water Pump Station 17
Platt/Whitelaw served as consulting architect to Malcolm Pirnie (now Arcadis), the Prime Engineer. The project was designed for the City of San Diego for use in distributing water to the surrounding community during a water emergency. PS 17 was subject to many design restrictions due to the residential location.
Sewer Pump Station 18
Platt/Whitelaw served as consulting architect to TetraTech, the Prime Engineer. The project was to rehabilitate SPS 18, located in Pacific Beach for the City of San Diego. The obsolete facility was replaced within the existing facility footprint, and a protective, buried retaining wall was added. A durable, low-impact design addressed community concerns about the appearance and effect of the structure.
Sewer Pump Station 19
Platt/Whitelaw served as consulting architect to TetraTech, the Prime Engineer. The project was to replace SPS 19, located on the coastal bluff in the Bird Rock area of San Diego. The existing station was demolished and replaced with a new station with beach access stairs. A presentation addressed concerns of the neighbors about the new facility’s effect on the neighborhood.
Sewer Pump Station 45
Platt/Whitelaw served as consulting architect to Lee & Ro, the Prime Engineer. The project was to combine three existing sewer pump stations into a single new station located at the existing SPS 45 site in the Encanto area of San Diego. PWA provided a design which has a low visual and noise profile.
Water Pump Station 65th & Herrick
Platt/Whitelaw was brought into this project by the City of San Diego because the local community required an architect to help define the appearance and interaction with neighboring areas. The redesign was approved by the community review committee.
Washington St. Lift Station
Platt/Whitelaw served as consulting architect to Brown & Caldwell, the Prime Engineer for Elsinore Valley MWD. The project was a 1,100 sf sewage lift station, in a one story above grade structure complete with durable, easy to maintain detailing and finishes. Its appearance conforms to the overall theme and design of adjacent development.
